Welcome

Welcome to the website for First Baptist Church in Bishop, Texas. We hope to provide information about our church and a few encouraging words about your relationship with Jesus Christ.
We would love for you to come visit us one Sunday morning, or one evening at a Small Group in someone's home. You and your family are always welcome at FBC Bishop.
What is First Saturday?
First Saturday is Worship. We need an opportunity to meet together and simply praise our Creator. In the moment between a long week and a month of looming obligations, First Saturday is a chance to take a break and offer pure worship to our God. No dress code, no sermon, no questions. Just Worship.
First Saturday is Relationships. Following the the worship time, a coffee house is open to allow you to sit back, relax and enjoy the company of other believers. In the kind of comfortable atmosphere that only comes with free childcare, you’ll be able to enjoy coffee and conversation while the kids enjoy games and movies.
First Saturday is a Start. Whether it’s getting plugged into a small group, finding a ministry to get involved with or just a place to invite friends who aren’t into the “traditional” church service – First Saturday is an opportunity for new beginnings.

First Saturday – Come Worship With Us.
We are now just over two weeks away from our Centennial Celebration on Sunday, April 3rd. We have received many calls from former members who plan to be present to celebrate with us. This is going to be a very special day. Please be praying that all goes well. I hope all of our local members who read this are planning to attend. We need an RSVP from you as well. The cooks need a firm estimate of how many will be present. The day begins with a reception in the Fellowship Hall from 9am to 10:13am., followed by an earlier starting time for Worship at 10:30am. Lunch will be shortly after noon with the afternoon celebration continuing at 1:30pm back in the Sanctuary. We should be saying farewell to our guests by 3:30pm.
March 25-27 are the dates for our Spring Men’s Retreat. If any of you men are interested and you haven’t received an info flier, copies will be on the Lord’s Supper table this Sunday morning.
